Freddy is FFFFinance's built-in AI assistant. Ask questions about your finances, get spending insights, categorise receipts with a photo, or just chat. Freddy supports multiple conversations, file attachments, and slash commands.

What You See

A chat interface with conversation tabs at the top and a message input at the bottom:

How to Use It

Conversations

• Multiple tabs -- Start as many separate conversations as you like. Each one keeps its own history.
• Export -- Download any conversation as a plain text file.

Asking Questions

Just type a question and press Enter (or click Send). Freddy can answer things like:

• "What's my balance?"
• "How much did I spend on groceries this month?"
• "Show me my cashflow"

Freddy uses the best available method to answer -- simple questions (like checking your balance) get instant answers from your data, while more complex questions use AI processing. Each reply shows a small coloured badge indicating how it was answered:

Instant (green)	Answered directly from your financial data -- no AI needed
Quick (yellow)	Handled by a lightweight on-device AI
Smart (purple)	Handled by a more capable on-device AI
Vision (cyan)	Used image recognition (e.g. reading a receipt photo)
Online (orange)	Processed by a fast cloud-based AI
Cloud (blue)	Processed by a premium cloud AI service

Each message also shows how long it took to respond.

File Attachments

• Drag-and-drop or click the paperclip icon to attach files.
• Supports images, PDFs, and documents.
• Freddy can read receipts and invoices from photos and classify documents automatically.

Suggestion Chips

Below the input you will find ready-made prompts to get started quickly:

• "What's my balance?"
• "Spending this month?"
• "How much on groceries?"

Click any chip to send it as a message.

Settings

Open Freddy's settings from within the panel to customise your experience:

AI Model Download

On the desktop app, Freddy can run AI entirely on your device. If no local AI model is installed, you will see a prompt to download one (about 400 MB). This is optional -- Freddy will still work using cloud AI if available.
